• Welcome From the President

Hello, and thank you for visiting the website for the South Carolina chapter of the National School Public Relations Association!  I am honored to serve as President of this great organization of dedicated school communicators.  Melissa Robinette

Nearly 7 years ago, when I joined the school public relations profession, and Spartanburg District Five Schools, I had no idea the wonderful journey I was about to embark upon.  One of the first pieces of advice I received from a colleague was to "get connected with SC/NSPRA".  Sadly, I must admit, I had no clue what SC/NSPRA was!  However, I quickly discovered it was my "lifeline":  a vital connection to colleagues across the state would provide advice, counsel, and much-needed support in this field of school public relations.

SC/NSPRA represents school public relations professionals all over the great state of South Carolina.  With a long tradition of excellence in school communications, our organization is proud to be filled with some of the most talented professionals in the business.  As SC/NSPRA members, we strive to communicate the amazing successes of students and schools in our own districts, and across the state.

Throughout the year, SC/NSPRA offers a variety of professional development opportunities for our members, helping each one to grow and sharpen their communication skills to better assist their districts.  These opportunities include regular chapter meetings, and an annual fall conference with our neighbors in the NC Chapter.  I believe these events showcase one of our organization's greatest strengths:  the chance to get together and exchange positive ideas and initiatives happening in our public schools.

This is an exciting time for education in SC, and for school communicators!  It's more important than ever to be a part of an organization that supports school communication, engagement, and student success.  I would encourage you to join our group and become a part of our SC/NSPRA family.  It's one of the greatest decisions I've ever made.

To become a member or renew your membership, you can find a membership form under the “Join Us” link.

Please visit our homepage for information on meetings throughout the year, and our Rewards for Excellence luncheon in May.

Also, don't hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance to you.
